The 2026 compliance calendar: six dates that will shape digital trust

DAC7 in January, AI Act high-risk rules in August, EUDI wallets by December: 2026 is the densest regulatory year digital identity has seen. Plan it now.

Compliance years used to have one headline. 2026 has six. Here is the calendar every digital-trust, fraud and onboarding team should pin.

The six dates

31 January: DAC7 reporting for platform sellers; TIN quality decides whether it is an export or an ordeal. Through spring: eIDAS 2.0 implementing acts keep landing, hardening wallet issuance and relying-party rules. 2 August: the AI Act's high-risk obligations apply; biometric identity systems face conformity, logging and oversight duties. Autumn: UK Online Safety Act enforcement broadens and EU age-verification convergence accelerates. 31 December: every EU member state must offer citizens an EUDI wallet. Throughout: AMLA guidance flows ahead of the 2027 AMLR application.

One preparation covers all six

Look past the acronyms and the demands rhyme: verify identity to government proof, minimise data, evidence every decision, and be ready to show your work. That is one architecture, not six projects. WeVerify ships it as one platform: KYC, KYB, TIN, screening, rule-driven CDD, age assurance, qualified signing and seals, each producing sealed evidence. Enter 2026 with the architecture and the calendar becomes a checklist.
